PWC (Jet Ski / RIB) Training in Puerto Portals, Mallorca

PWC training is about control, awareness and safe habits at speed. At Balearic Sea School, based in Puerto Portals, 07181, Calvià, Mallorca, we focus on practical handling, responsible decision-making and the routines that keep you and others safe around busy coastal waters. Whether you’re new to PWCs or want to sharpen technique, the goal is the same: confident, controlled riding with good judgement in real conditions.

About the course

What you’ll gain from PWC training

Practical coaching that improves control, safety and confidence fast.

Steering, throttle discipline and smoother handling in real situations.

Pre-ride checks, emergency awareness and clean, repeatable habits.

Positioning, scanning and judgement around boats, swimmers and coastline.

Low-speed handling, turns and controlled approaches without panic moments.

Train with local context: traffic, wind shifts and busy-water realities.

Who it’s for

This training suits beginners who want a safe, structured start, and experienced riders who want sharper control and better decision-making. It’s also ideal if you’ll be operating around marinas, anchorages and high-traffic areas where awareness and spacing matter as much as speed. If you tell us your experience and where you plan to ride, we’ll tailor the session to the situations you’ll actually face.

Want to build broader boat-handling confidence too?

If you want skills that transfer beyond PWCs, Powerboat Level 2 is the most practical foundation for confident handling. If you already have a boat and want tailored coaching, Own Boat Training is the fastest way to improve on your exact setup.

Common course questions

Is this suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. We build confidence step by step, focusing on control, awareness and safe routines before pushing pace.
Is this training only for jet skis?
The focus is PWC handling, but the principles translate well to small craft operation and responsible behaviour around other water users.
Will I learn how to handle a PWC at low speed as well as at speed?
Yes. Low-speed control and calm approaches are a key part of safe riding, especially near marinas and crowded areas.
Do I need my own jet ski or RIB?
Not necessarily. Tell us what you have available and we’ll advise the best way to run the session.
What should I bring?
Sun protection, water, and suitable footwear. We’ll confirm any additional gear depending on conditions and session format.
Where does training take place?
We’re based in Puerto Portals, Calvià, Mallorca, with training carried out in local waters as conditions allow.
How do I arrange training?
Just contact us via WhatsApp, phone or email. We’ll confirm timing, format and what to prepare.
